The weekend-long rock show featured field trips to search for fossilized fish, petrified wood, stromatolite, agates and jaspers; demonstrations on fossil preparation, knapping, wire wrapping, silversmithing, faceting, cabbing and sphere making; and vendors selling and showcasing rough rock, slabs, cabs, fossils, jade, opal, jewelry and other specimens from around the world. Kids’ activities included fluorescent rock hunting and entertainment provided by Mr. Bones the dinosaur puppeteer from Fossile Butte National Monument in Kemmerer. Many vendors offered free fossils or crystals for children in attendance.
