PINEDALE — The Museum of the Mountain Man’s 30th Annual Wreath & Chocolate Auction, held Dec. 1, raised thousands of dollars for programs and projects in the upcoming year. The live and silent auctions constitute the primary fundraiser for the museum and Sublette County Historical Society. The highest dollar wreath this year was a hand carved wooden moose made by Miles and Melissa Anderson and purchased by David Royal for $2,035. Final bidding on the creative piece came down to the Royals and Barb and Larry Dennis. When it looked to the animated crowd like the Dennis’ had won the wreath at $2,030, Darren Hull threw in a $5 bill and the Dennis’ graciously bowed out of the bidding war. Organizations, businesses and individuals donated to the cause, with Jonah Energy donating $3,000 toward the event, First Bank sponsoring the food for the 22nd consecutive year and tremendous community support.
