PINEDALE — Get ready to relive Sublette County’s history! The 89th Annual Green River Rendezvous Days are this weekend, July 10-13, in downtown Pinedale. The event pays homage to the Green River Rendezvous of the early 1830s, when Mountain Men, fur trappers, travelers and Indigenous peoples gathered in the valley below the Green River to barter, trade and swap supplies, drink and socialize.
This weekend’s lineup includes a parade; mounted historical reenactments; rodeos; indigenous dancers; a street dance; live music; wagon rides; a vendor fair and farmer’s market; trader’s row; a book sale; an auto tour; beard-shaving; raffles; a BBQ; and demonstrations on blacksmithing, sign language, beaver trapping and skinning, firearms, shelters/shanties and lean-tos, canoe-making, bull boats and dugouts, and tipi living. Local businesses, restaurants and galleries host sales and specials all weekend long.
The Museum of the Mountain Man has planned educational events and historical demonstrations on the museum grounds throughout the weekend. Scroll down for the museum’s schedule of events.
