PINEDALE – Local writer and former Pinedale Roundup columnist Mary Brodie has announced a book signing for her first novel.
Brodie will be at the Pinedale Library from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, to sign copies of her novel, Laura Ann and the Nazi Spy. While there, people can purchase the novel, as well as Brodie’s short story, Two Flags in the Windows.
Laura Ann and the Nazi Spy takes place during World War II. A 13-year-old girl unwillingly encounters challenges when her family relocates to Ogden, Utah. Laura Anna eventually leads a new set of friends into danger. Readers will be put into the youthful mind in 1940s America. The book’s start is loosely similar to Brodie’s upbringing, living in a homemade trailer briefly and with her father working at Hill Air Base. The rest of the story is solely Laura Ann’s.
Brodie used to write the Wit, Wisdom or Whatever! column in the Roundup, but stepped away to concentrate on writing her novel.
