BIG PINEY — Kickin’ Cancer in Sublette County hosted another successful annual fundraiser at the Sublette County Fairgrounds in Big Piney on Saturday, June 1. Roughly 250 people attended the 22nd annual event, helping to raise approximately $74,000 for folks battling cancer in Sublette County, according to Sheila Boyce.
The funds were raised through generous donations and sponsorships, dinner ticket sales, live and silent auctions and raffle ticket sales. Every person who purchased a dinner ticket was automatically entered into a drawing for a five-night trip for two to the Western Resort in Cancun, Mexico. Richard Smith was the lucky winner of the trip. The raffle grand prize was won by Carole Richie, giving her the choice of one of four packages: a Polaris 570 Northstar SX5 with trailer, an open Ranger XP 1000 with trailer, a Razor XP 1000 2 seat with trailer or a 570 ATV and 850 snowmachine with trailer.
Dinner was provided by the Southwest Sublette County Pioneer Senior Center and the Bear Den. Boulder Bar provided a cash bar. Live musical performances by singer-songwriter Jared Rogerson kept attendees entertained throughout the evening.
Kickin’ Cancer has “helped over 450 families in 22 years,” Boyce said.
The 501(c)3 nonprofit has provided “over $800,000 in funds,” since its inception. For more information about Kickin’ Cancer, to apply for funds, donate or get involved, visit https://www.kickincancer.org/.
