Several fines and sentences were imposed in Sublette County Circuit Court from July 17 to July 23, 2023.
The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reported 215 calls from July 17 to July 23, including a death, two animal bites, eight animal problems, 25 suspicious circumstances (includes accidental 911 calls), a theft, nine vehicle crashes, six medical emergencies, 13 citizen assists, a search-and-rescue, three grass fires, 42 vehicle identification number inspections and 29 urinalyses.
On July 4 at 10:29 p.m., Deputy Garrett Lozier heard “a commotion” in the jail’s B-Pod and saw inmates William B. Sciolino and Jamison D. Finley facing each other, according to his affidavit. All inmates were ordered to lock down and Lozier walked Finley to his cell, noting red marks on his face, it says.
On July 7 at 10:56 p.m., Luna Phaedra Serrano was stopped by Sublette County Deputy Todd Morgan after a Ridley’s manager reported a woman sitting in a white Ford Ranger was harassing two teenage females while parked, according to his affidavit.
“Maybe he’s friends of Snoop Dogg,” Judge John LaBuda said.
Mahaffey will face a six-person jury trial beginning on Nov. 28.
One woman blocked out many memories of being sexually molested starting in kindergarten; another woman wasn’t taken seriously in 1998 because of her age at the time. Over the past year, both told Sublette County detectives of allegations that Robert W. McCutchan, of Pinedale, had molested them sometimes daily, took indecent liberties and exposed them to sexual acts when they were very young, records show.
Sublette County Attorney Clayton Melinkovich confirmed that on April 18 he asked commissioners for the Johnson County Attorney’s Office to investigate and if necessary prosecute “an individual who is employed by a state agency and works closely with (his) office.” A sealed charge is filed with Sublette County Circuit Court with a closed preliminary hearing set for Wednesday, July 19, after the Roundup’s deadline.
