SUBLETTE COUNTY – A Pinedale woman was arrested on Sept. 20 and charged in Circuit Court with misdemeanor domestic assault after she reportedly slapped her husband in the face.

A Sublette County deputy went to the home of Sharon and Karl Mauch around 5:10 p.m. after she called and said her husband wouldn’t let her leave their house because she had been drinking, according to Deputy Todd Morgan’s affidavit. She told him her husband blocked her from leaving and she slapped his face with an open hand, it says. He left to return to his hunting camp.

The deputy arrested Mauch and took her to the Sublette County Detention Center; she was released Sept. 21 after signing an unsecured $500 bond. The maximum penalty is six months in jail and a $750 fine.

Her preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 10 at 11 a.m. in Sublette County Circuit Court.
