SUBLETTE COUNTY – The Wyoming Game and Fish will discuss and vote on proposed gray wolf trophy hunting seasons during its upcoming meeting, July 13-15, in Sheridan.
Large carnivore supervisor Dan Thompson is scheduled to appear on Wednesday, July 14, at around 3 p.m. to go through details for the 2021 wolf hunting season. The overall quota of 51 is recommended in the trophy-game management area this year – same as in 2020.
Several hunt areas are combined again this year due to wolves’ traveling freely among them.
All but the seasonal trophy game management area, Hunt Area 12, Alpine, are slated to open on Sept. 15. HA 12 will open a month later on Oct. 15. All but one are expected to close when a quota is filled or on Dec. 31. HA 13, Whiskey Mountain, is open until the quota is filled or through March 31.
