Terry Lee Svalberg, of Pinedale, Wyo., died peacefully and unexpectedly in his sleep on Oct. 29, 2021. He was born Sept. 4, 1955, in Evanston, Wyo., to Bud and Patricia Sleeth Svalberg. He grew up in Wyoming, New Mexico and Oregon where he graduated from high school. Terry graduated from Oregon State University with a major in soil science and worked for the U.S. Forest Service in Libby, Mont., and then in Yakima, Wash., for the Yakima Tribe. In 1991 he moved to Pinedale, Wyo., with the U.S. Forest Service where he remained until his retirement in 2017.

Terry is survived by his sons: Alan (his wife Megan and grandson Thompson) of Teton Village, Wyo. and Steven of Arvada, Colo. Also by his brothers: Barry of Albuquerque, N.M., Larry (Margie) of Salmon, Idaho, and sister Sharon (Lynn Nelles) of Gardnerville, Nev. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Terry was a great father and devoted grandfather. He was endlessly supportive to his kids and the biggest fan of his grandson, Thompson. He will be missed terribly by all of his family scattered across the country.
