AFTON – The Pinedale High School Wrangler golf team kicked off the 2022 fall sports season at the Snake River Shootout on Wednesday, Aug. 10. Star Valley High School hosted the first day of the event at Valley View Golf Course.
The team put in a solid performance despite the fact that the first day of practice was only two days before the meet.
Elyn Bowers represented the Lady Wranglers on the green, shooting a 107 and placing 15th in girls’ varsity.
Several Wranglers entered the boys’ varsity division. Brody Hamby led the pack taking 19th place with a score of 83. Bill Hibbert finished 23rd with 87 strokes.
Josh Gosar pulled into 28th place shooting 89. Blade Hibbert came in 31st with a score of 91.
Garrett Haley took 35th place with 94 strokes, followed by Decker Normington in 37th at 97, Ashton Bennett in 41st at 105, Ryley Lea in 42nd at 111 and Alex Gosar in 44th at 115.
The Wranglers host the Pinedale Junior Varsity Golf Tournament on Tuesday, Aug. 16, beginning at 11 a.m.
Pinedale golfers hit the greens again at the 2-day Star Valley Invite on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 18-19. Tee times are 11 a.m. on Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday.
