SUBLETTE COUNTY – The search is on for residents of Sublette County for at least 50 years to be recognized as a “Sublette Centennial Pioneer.”
Long-timers and natives alike who qualify are invited to fill out a nomination form available from the Sublette County Centennial Committee. The form requests some family background and biographical information and “pioneers” will be invited to participate in upcoming Centennial events and projects.
During the fair, the Centennial Quilt made by local quilters was on display and will travel the county to different events.
Committee members are Mary Lankford, Clint Gilchrist, Tim Thompson, Debbee Woyciesjes, Todd Brown, Janet Montgomery and Betty Fear. The celebration covers the rest of 2021 and 2022.
Nomination forms are available at the Southwest Sublette County Pioneers Senior Center in Marbleton, Rendezvous Pointe in Pinedale and Office Outlet in Big Piney and Pinedale. Committee members and coordinator Mindi Crabb, Subcocentennial@gmail.com, also have more information.
The Sublette County Centennial Committee invites the public to its next meeting, Aug. 11 at 5:15 p.m. in the Commissioners Meeting Room at the courthouse in Pinedale.
Also on Sept. 5 at the Sommers Homestead Living History Museum’s annual community lunch and Wyoming Cowboy Hall of Fame celebration, the Centennial Committee will have a table with forms and information.
