Storms down trees, branches throughout Sublette County

Parts of Sublette County were hit hard by a storm with strong winds that whipped through the area on the evening of Sunday, July 2 and Monday, July 3. Pinedale resident Terry Allen was lucky, as his truck survived with only a small dent in the hood after a large aspen tree was blown onto it — taking down the power lines in its way. Thanks to the help of a neighbor and Rocky Mountain Power, the tree was removed and power was restored.
Boyd Skinner Park in Pinedale was closed July 1, due to hazardous conditions created when the windstorm blew down several limbs and even whole trees. The park reopened to the public on the afternoon of July 2, thanks to the efforts of staff from Town of Pinedale, Bridger-Teton East Zone fire crew and Sublette County Emergency Management.
In Big Piney, residents with downed tree limbs from the July 3 storm should place them on the town rights-of-ways for pickup.
