The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reported 208 calls from Aug. 9 through Aug. 15, including six calls to Tip Top Search and Rescue, nine accidents, one death, a cell phone search, seven suspicious incidents, a sex offense, two smoke reports, 15 citizen assists, a theft, vandalism, a fire, six motorist assists, 32 urinalyses and 32 vehicle identification numbers inspections.

Sheriff’s report – Aug. 20

The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reported 208 calls from Aug. 9 through Aug. 15, including six calls to Tip Top Search and Rescue, nine accidents, one death, a cell phone search, seven suspicious incidents, a sex offense, two smoke reports, 15 citizen assists, a theft, vandalism, a fire, six motorist assists, 32 urinalyses and 32 vehicle identification numbers inspections.

Aug. 9

At 1:21 a.m., a white Ford truck went into the ditch near the Daniel Junction.

At 3:02 a.m., a woman said a dog was crying like it was in pain.

At 10:53 a.m., a red Toyota went off the shoulder of the road.

At 11:18 a.m., a white Ford truck rolled near Cora.

At 11:48 a.m., a medical emergency was reported.

At 12:41 p.m., one of two women hiking near May’s Lake had altitude sickness.

At 1:03 p.m., a friend was worried about friends hiking to Square Top who were due back in Utah the night before. They were fine.

At 1:54 p.m., a grass fire was reported near the Denbury plant.

At 2:25 p.m., a rancher locked the gates on trespassers who parked and unloaded dirt bikes on private property. She said she would wait until law enforcement arrived to unlock it.

At 5:18 p.m., a black BMW was speeding in and out of traffic.

At 6:33 p.m., Lincoln County dispatch reported a person had fallen.

At 7:02 p.m., a woman said a limping dog that had been all over Facebook was with her at the CCC Ponds.

At 7:45 p.m., a customer trying to check into a motel could not find anybody.

At 9:20 p.m., a man asked if someone could scare off a big bull moose next to Highway 191 so it didn’t get hit.

At 11:36 p.m., a suspicious person was knocking on doors and windows for the second time in several days.

Aug. 10

At 10:26 a.m., a person was assaulted in Kendall Valley.

At 10:45 a.m., a theft was reported.

At 11:38 a.m., 10 to 15 yearlings were on Highway 352.

At 11:57 a.m., a Chevy 2500 truck hit a Jeep Compass.

At 1:49 p.m., search and rescue helped a hiker with an injured knee.

At 5:59 p.m., a man and his mother ran out of gas in Sweetwater County; dispatch notified Wyoming Highway Patrol.

At 6:02 p.m., a white Chrysler was passing unsafely.

At 6:34 p.m., an emergency call came from a man vomiting from altitude sickness.

At 7:24 p.m., a black bucket in the middle of Highway 191 was a traffic hazard.

At 10:34 p.m., a man called to report someone hit a moose on Highway 191.

Aug. 11

At 7:51 a.m., a woman hit and injured a moose on Pine Street.

At 7:56 p.m., a rancher was moving 250 head of cattle about a quarter-mile on Highway 191.

At 8:08 a.m., a businesses reported a damaged front door.

At 9 a.m., a hiking guide said a woman at Two Top Lakes was very ill and couldn’t walk out.

At 10:56 a.m., a sheep painted with “RS” was on the highway.

At 11:09 a.m., a store employee asked about age limits for tobacco sales.

At 11:53 a.m., a man filed a report about a missing UPS package.

At 3:39 p.m., a campground host reported a suspicious man in a truck; it was a hiker taking a break.

At 4:44 p.m., a badger was chasing people down the road; a game warden said it probably felt harassed and to leave it alone.

At 9:31 p.m., a citizen had information about an active investigation.

Aug. 12

At 9:16 a.m., a deputy called hikers who did a wilderness check-in and had not arrived when scheduled; they changed their plans.

At 10 a.m., a caller gave a detective some information.

At 11:06 a.m., a California hiker reported vandalism and theft while parked at Scab Creek.

At 11:08 a.m., a caller reported the third vandalism on his Honda, with a broken window and windshield.

At 11:13 a.m., a purple passenger car was traveling north at a high rate of speed.

At 11:55 a.m., a deputy assisted a citizen with an active investigation.

At 12:10 p.m., a detective searched a cell phone.

At 12:40 p.m., a medical emergency was reported.

At 12:43 p.m., a woman saw smoke in the mountains.

At 2:48 p.m., a semi pulling a camper and a trailer passed a woman who had to drive off the road to avoid being hit.

At 3:53 p.m., a woman asked a deputy to be present for a custody exchange.

At 4:40 p.m., a man was arrested on a warrant.

At 5:23 p.m., a woman was arrested after a traffic stop.

At 5:32 p.m., the K9 drug dog made a search.

At 6:24 p.m., a person had breathing problems.

At 6:45 p.m., a deputy was informed of an incident at the PAC.

At 8:13 p.m., a small black and white car on Highway 191 was going 40 mph and all over the road.

At 8:54 p.m., a truck driver hauling vehicles said he got highway paint all over his semi and the vehicles.

At 11:22 p.m., a garage’s motion sensor alarm went off.

Aug. 13

At 7:35 a.m., a caller had questions about a trespass order.

At 8:56 a.m., an accidental 911 call came from an Oklahoma woman staying at a local RV park.

At 9:22 a.m., a detective requested a search warrant.

At 10:20 a.m., a truck was rear-ended by a minivan.

At 12:47 p.m., a woman asked a deputy to check on someone’s welfare.

At 4:43 p.m., two brothers got separated from a Boy Scout troop fishing at Trapper Lake. They were found safe.

At 6:03 p.m., an antelope fawn and doe with a broken leg were in the road.

At 6:43 p.m., a man texted that he needed help getting his luggage down from his hike.

At 7:50 p.m., a man asked for help with VIN paperwork because a page was missing.

At 8:38 p.m., a deputy helped with a juvenile problem.

At 9:37 p.m., neighbors had a big bonfire, against restrictions.

At 11:52 p.m., a back office door’s alarm went off.

Aug. 14

At 12:14 a.m., a sexual assault near Fremont Lake was reported.

At 5:22 a.m., a senior center alarm went off three nights in a row.

At 5:37 a.m., a burglar alarm went off in a TV room.

At 9:07 a.m., a red Jeep and a gray Suburban traveling together passed a half-dozen vehicles on a blind corner.

At 10:31 a.m., dogs chased a badger into a carport and the caller worried it might hurt someone.

At 11:20 a.m., a collision took place south of Pinedale.

At 12:16 p.m., a deputy ordered a blood draw.

At 5:28 p.m., a very thin German shepherd needed to get picked up.

At 6:11 p.m., a person was bleeding.

At 6:11 p.m., people were sitting in a silver truck with a camper shell for hours and did not look sober. They were taking a break and reading.

At 6:16 p.m., a gold minivan was speeding up and down and crossing lines.

At 6:52 p.m., a woman heard four or five suspicious loud bangs near Pine Street. They were cannons shot off at a veterans’ gold tournament.

At 8:26 p.m., black smoke filled up the valley.

At 10:13 p.m., a suspicious person knocked on a window.

At 10:28 p.m., a traffic stop turned into a DUI arrest.

Aug. 15

At 7:54 a.m., a death was reported.

At 9:12 a.m., a driver was arrested.

At 10:28 a.m., a gray Ford F150 almost caused a collision when passing without enough room.

At 11:14 a.m., an active search started for a person missing since Saturday.

At 1:49 p.m., a caller found a black and white collie mix with a tumor on its belly.

At 3:02 p.m., an SOS alert came in.

At 5:59 p.m., a truck pulling a fifth-wheel lost a tire and was running on the rim.

At 6:20 p.m., smoke followed a lightning strike.

At 6:59 p.m., a clinic reported a medical emergency.

At 7:18 p.m., two border collies were running amok toward Pine Street.

At 9:03 p.m., a dark-colored truck was weaving and driving slowly in Kendall Valley.

At 10:10 p.m., a car with its flashers on and deployed airbags was parked at the end of a driveway with no one around.

At 10:23 p.m., a rancher found a dead bay horse shot in the head near Little Divide Lake.
