SUBLETTE COUNTY – The Sublette County Attorney’s Office reduced a Boulder man’s two felony sexual assault charges to misdemeanors in Circuit Court.
Cung Nang Sang, a permanent resident, will appear Sublette County Circuit Court for his arraignment on two sexual battery charges and two misdemeanors of providing alcohol to a minor and providing tobacco to a minor.
On March 9, District Judge Kate McKay reviewed the county prosecutor’s motion and ordered Sang’s case to be remanded.
He was originally charged with second-degree and third-degree sexual abuse of a minor in connection alleged in September 2022 and bound over to 9th District Court by former Judge Curt Haws, records show. He will appear before newly installed Judge John LaBuda.
Sang’s April 13 pretrial conference and May 8 trial were vacated.
Each sexual battery charge holds maximum penalties of 1 year in jail and $1,000 fines; the other two carry $250 fines, according to court records.
