PINEDALE – Special angel wreaths hang around Pinedale, decked with red and green “angels” that list childrens’ Christmas needs and wishes.
Resident are asked to select an angel as a personal or family giving project and share with youngsters who would not otherwise have a Christmas. Deliver the wrapped packages with angel tags firmly attached to Rendezvous Pointe by Dec. 11. For more information, call Beth Allen at Rendezvous Pointe, 307-367-2881.
This year, 49 families and 113 children will receive a Christmas, which is down from last year when 65 families and 162 children were helped.
Allen said for those who don’t want to shop, monetary donations will be used to fill Angels not selected or to purchase gift cards for older teenagers. Angels can also be selected that will put money in children’s lunch accounts to ensure children will continue to be served school lunches.
Allen said the names of the children were submitted by the schools, Sexual Assault and Family Violence, the Department of Family Services and the Food Basket.
Each child is represented by two angels and the suggested gifts include something the child needs and something the child wants, the child’s age and sizes if clothing, coats and boots are selected.
Gifts will be available for pickup on Dec. 18.
