BIG PINEY – Sublette County Unified Fire Department volunteers responded to a fire on the 200 block of South Noble Street at approximately 4:54 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 25.
Units observed smoke coming from the roof of the single-family residence upon arrival. According to a release from SCUF’s Mike Petty, firefighters combated flames on the inside of the residence to prevent spreading. Those efforts successfully contained the fire to a bedroom and attic space.
When the fire was knocked down, firefighters ensured all occupants were out and limit any further property damage.
Residents of the home exited safely after being awoken by the family dog. A 911 call followed soon after.
Origin and cause of the fire are still unknown and an investigation into those factors is ongoing.
