SUBLETTE COUNTY – The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office once again reported scam emails throughout the county this week.
The newest one involves scammers pulling email addresses through phishing techniques from large companies such as Bank of America, Amazon and eBay to pull user information, including emails. This time, scammers are using local businesses as fronts.
A swath of emails supposedly sent from Moosely Mailboxes with an address of 34 N Franklin evolved into a PMB No. 2043 address, a virtual mailbox registered out of India, according to the sheriff’s office. Moosley Mailboxes confirmed it was not involved in the emails.
The SCSO pleads with residents to be aware before giving out information.
