Pollinator Positive! discussion returns

PINEDALE – Anyone interested interested in the effects of local mosquito management on pollinators – birds, butterflies, bees – is invited to this Pollinator Positive! public discussion.

This free, public mosquito committee conversation about Pinedale’s district will be on Monday, June 20, at 6 p.m. in the Pinedale Library’s Lovatt Room.

Sublette County has a new Mosquito Abatement District #1 board. Share your views on safe, effective “integrated mosquito management” in Pinedale. There will be an informational slide show about integrated mosquito management, followed by discussion.

Integrated mosquito management is:

  • Engaging the community regularly.
  • Surveillance, mapping and rational setting of action thresholds.
  • Physical control through manipulation of mosquito habitat.
  • Larval and adult mosquito management using multiple tools including source reduction, biological control and application of targeted insecticides.
  • Monitoring for insecticide efficacy and resistance.
