PINEDALE – The Pinedale volleyball team won its home finale on Thursday, Oct. 12, against Kemmerer. The Lady Wranglers scored the victory in four games to send its seniors – Tacy Kunard, Carson Mack, Faith Friend, Zoe Noble, Haley Boulter, Bailey Schupp and Megen Rohrer – out on a positive note.

Pinedale won the match 25-14, 25-27, 25-14 and 25-9 to get its 10th win on the season.

After the non-conference win, however, Pinedale had to take on the league leaders, Lyman.

Pinedale made a couple of the games close, but Lyman pulled out the victory to stay undefeated in the 3A South Quadrant. Lyman won the match in three games, 25-12, 25-22 and 25-17, to improve to 5-0 in the conference and 22-4 overall.

Pinedale, meanwhile, slipped to 10-14 overall and 0-4 in the 3A South with the loss.

Pinedale will have two more opportunities to pick up its first conference win this weekend.

Tonight at 6 p.m., the Lady Wranglers will play Star Valley (16-9, 3-2).

On Saturday, Pinedale will take on Mountain View (13-12, 1-3) at noon.

A couple wins could also help Pinedale get a better seed for the regional tournament Oct. 27-28 in Riverton. Pinedale is currently in the No. 4 spot and would have to take on the 3A North's top team, Cody (17-7, 4-0) in the first round if no one shakes up the standings.

The 3A state tournament will take place Nov. 3-4 in Casper.
