PINEDALE – Third-grade students at Pinedale Elementary School celebrated Arbor Day on a droopy Thursday morning by planting trees at the new Dudley Key Sports Complex.
Town of Pinedale Councilmember Tyler Swafford was present to read a proclamation, celebrating the holiday for 30 straight years in Pinedale.
Following a few lessons on trees, select students grabbed shovels before being divided into groups to help shovel at different trees scattered across the complex’s northern-most fields.
Even the mist and wind couldn’t dampen spirits. The students’ contributions will now be part of the complex for years to come.
