PINEDALE – Two staff members at the Pinedale Aquatic Center were recently named recipients of different awards through the Wyoming Recreation and Parks Association for contributions to the community and field of parks and recreations.
Joe Steege, recreation manager, was bestowed the Young Professional award. Steege was chosen for his work with youth sports, his commitment to PAC and work with school officials to prepare future athletes. That is given to a member of the state Recreation and Parks Association who is under 35 and excelling in their field.
Director Amber Anderson was honored with the Fellow Award, recognizing her leadership at the PAC and involvement in the community to further recreation. The award is reserved for those with at least eight years of experience and have made significant contributions to both the organization and Wyoming Recreation and Parks Association. Anderson has been with the PAC since 2008, but the award largely focused on her service as director since 2018. During that time, Anderson has helped lay the foundation for Friends of PAC, received Society of Human Resource Management certification, was elected to the Wyoming Recreation and Parks Association Board and built working relationships throughout the community.
Jason Burton, recreation supervisor, also received the Great Western Playground Scholarship by the WRPA, which distributes a $500 cash reward to offset costs of future conference attendance.
