Niobe Thais Aimes Zarlingo, 91, passed
away peacefully at her home Wednesday
morning June 12 in Boulder. Niobe was born
Dec. 22, 1927, in Atchison, Kan., to William
Roy and Anna Marie Didier Aimes. She
completed her primary education in a very
small school with all the grades combined in
Bloomfield, N.M., and she graduated from
Farmington High School. She married her
lifelong sweetheart Virgil Anthony Zarlingo
on Aug. 25, 1949, in Farmington, N.M. To
this union were born two daughters Toni
Ann and Sherry Diane. Niobe loved working
in her flowerbeds. She also loved to
read, a good poker game, painting pictures,
making greeting cards and crocheting. She
was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary,
the Square Dance Club, was a 4-H
leader and was of the Lutheran faith.
Niobe is preceded in death by her husband
Virgil Anthony Zarlingo, parents William
and Anna Aimes, three sisters; and one
brother. She is survived by her daughters
Toni (Gary) Bohnet and Sherry (Steve)
Wilder; grandchildren Shawna (Jason)
Danze, Billie Jo (Brent Dietz) Greenhalgh,
Lynn (Erica) Bohnet, Blake (Mandy)
Greenhalgh; 10 great-grandchildren and
five great-great-grandchildren. A memorial
service will be conducted Friday, June 21,
at 11 a.m. at the Wilderness Church, 110 N.
Jackson Ave., Pinedale. Inurnment will follow
in the Pinedale Cemetery. Family and
friends will gather for a reception, following
the services, at the Pinedale VFW, 1033 W.
Pine St.
