PINEDALE – After 27 years at the Pinedale Library, children’s librarian Nancy McDaniels has encouraged generations of many families to look forward to reading and learning.
On May 31, her library coworkers and fans filled the Lovatt Room to say goodbye with some heartwarming letters and lots of gratitude. “Miss Nancy” received – and gave – dozens of hugs for her friends gathered over the years. Sublette County library director Sid Stanfill made a tongue-in-cheek speech about the changes in those 27 years and the “extraordinary” work done by McDaniels. Her fans nibbled on goodies prepared by her coworkers; she opened their gifts and told her replacement Michelle Humber not to cry. McDaniels plans to work one day a week at the Sublette County Visitor Center and one day at her church and make the most of retirement.
