SUBLETTE COUNTY – The Pinedale VFW Post 4801 will be holding a ceremony out at the Pinedale Cemetery at 11 a.m. on the morning of Memorial Day, May 29. The ceremony is expected to run for approximately one hour, with a lunch immediately following at the VFW Post 4801, where the VFW Auxiliary will present an award to Pinedale High School senior Aisha Auroudou for winning the local Patriotic Art Contest. In addition, the American Legion Auxiliary has extended an invitation for local Girls State Representatives to attend.
In Big Piney, the American Legion is also holding its traditional ceremony at Pineview Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Monday, Memorial Day. The event includes a 21-gun salute, a presentation by the local Boy Scout Troop and a speech by Sublette County Commissioner Mack Rawhouser. Afterward, there will be a free community barbecue at the cemetery.
