PINEDALE — Longtime Pinedale resident David J. Bell has released his third photography book, this one featuring images capturing the “beauty, diversity and unique characteristics of life in Sublette County.”

The hardcover is a colorful shot of red and purple wildflowers growing at Glover Peak.

For his latest book, published by Gatekeeper Press, Bell combed through more than 850,000 of his images, choosing 200 to grace the high-gloss pages of the book. Some were taken on his very first digital camera, a Sony DSC-707, while others were captured on “the most modern gear on the market today.”

Unlike Bell’s previous books, which are displayed chronologically, there is no order to the images included in Bell’s third book; rather the photographs are featured “100-percent random. One page might be winter and the next an elk calf. I hope you enjoy the randomness of the pictures.”

Bell shot all of the photographs in Sublette County.

The 206-page book, “23: The Place We Call Home,” is available locally at Obo’s, Office Outlet, Cowboy Shop, 307 Mercantile, Rocky Mountain Home Center, Lakeside Lodge and from Bell himself.
