PINEDALE — Shantelle Rule, Aimee Gray – Pinedale High School seniors– were recently named as members of the 3A West All-Conference team and Rule was also named to the 3A All-State for the West following a pair of strong basketball seasons with the Lady Wranglers.

Gray finished the season with an average of 8.1 points per game and led the team with 6.6 rebounds a game.

“Aimee was a great leader on and off the court for our team,” head coach Trent Bowers said.

“I think it’s an awesome achievement that other coaches notice your talent,” Gray said. “It’s not just an individual effort, it’s a team effort. It took a whole team to get where we are.”

As for Rule, the senior athlete finished with an average of 17.2 points a game, along with leading the team in assists, steals and blocked shots. In addition, she set a new school record with most points in a season, scoring 448 points this past year. She also set a new school record in most free throws shot in a career, shooting 251 of 401 free throws this past season.

Rule says receiving All-Conference two years in a row for basketball was a great personal achievement, but the icing on the cake was being named to All-State.

“It’s a good achievement and nice to see other coaches recognize our hard work in Pinedale,” she said.

Rule score more than 20 points in 11 games this past season, with her highest point total coming against Kemmerer, where she scored 34 points in three quarters of play.

“Shantelle is an amazing athlete,” the coach said. “She was the heart and soul of our team this year. She is such a good ball-handler and passer and did a fantastic job making her teammates better.”
