The Pinedale volleyball team played two games last weekend. Pinedale lost to the No. 5 team in 3A, Riverton, but came back strong Saturday and blew away Lander.
Against Riverton, the Lady Wranglers lost the first two games, 25-16 and 25-15. In the third game, Pinedale rallied to win a close contest, 25-23. The Lady Wranglers weren't able to keep their momentum going, however, and Riverton came back to win the fourth game, 25-18, to take the match 3-1.
On Saturday, Pinedale didn't have much trouble with Lander. The Lady Wranglers won the match with three comfortable wins. Pinedale took the first game, 25-10. The second game was the closest of the match, but Pinedale still won 25-20. The Lady Wranglers then took the third game, 25-10, to win the match.
As this paper was going to press, Pinedale was scheduled to host county rival Big Piney on Thursday night.
On Friday, Sept. 29, Pinedale’s volleyball team will host Lyman for its Homecoming games beginning at 2 p.m. Pinedale's Homecoming football game, against Mountain View, will follow at 7 p.m. Lyman's volleyball team currently leads the 3A South Quadrant with a 2-0 mark in the conference and an 11-3 overall record. Pinedale is currently fourth in the quadrant with a 0-2, 7-8 record. Mountain Vista and Star Valley are tied for second at 1-1, 7-6.
