Knights hold Lenten fish fry

Posted

PINEDALE – Knights of Columbus held their Lenten Friday fish fry at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church on March 24, serving up fried cod, baked Cajun catfish and golden fries and onion rings. The Knights also held a raffle, all to raise funds in support of the priesthood. The Knights occasionally support seminarians and perform good deeds for the church and its congregation, such as
purchasing a new “Mary” statue, cutting fire- wood and removing snow. The Knights also received a special dispensation to cook the corned beef for the church’s previous Friday special St. Patrick’s Day dinner. Grand Knight Mike Harker estimated at least 200 people enjoyed the Lenten fish fry on March 23 and more than 250 came by March 17 for corned beef and boiled veg.
