Jack W. Morey, 96, died of cancer Dec. 15, 2021, one day before his 97th birthday.

Jack was born Dec. 16, 1924, in Anaheim, Calif. to Oren Henry Morey and Frances Evelyn Eastman.

Jack attended Anaheim High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army to serve in WWII under General George S. Patton, where he was in the 119th Antiaircraft Artillery Gun Battalion.

After the service Jack moved to Desert Hot Springs, Calif., where his mother and stepfather had established themselves as the fifth family to settle there.

Jack started doing concrete work with his stepdad. This was the start of his career.

He went on to establish Jack Morey Cement Contractors, Inc. and was very successful until he retired in 1986.

In 1975, Jack met his wife Doris and they have shared 46 happy years together. Jack was also a trained pilot, and owned his own airplane, a Cessna pressurized 210, which he and wife would fly between Palm Springs and Pinedale, Wyo.

Upon retiring, Jack started spending the summer in Pinedale where he loved to fish and hunt at his home there with family and friends.

Jack was blessed with two children, four stepchildren, 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Jack passed away at his home in Palm Desert, Calif., with his wife Doris by his side.

Jack was a great man and lived great life.
