SUBLETTE COUNTY – The Friends of PAC is partnering with the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation to support the Pinedale Aquatic Center’s Learn-To-Swim program.
The grant supplies funds that will maintain quality swim lesson opportunities for the youth of Sublette County. Additionally, the grant funds will allow the Pinedale Aquatic Center to continue offering the voucher program to the local elementary school. This program provides opportunities for every elementary student in the district to participate in swimming lessons.
The Pinedale Aquatic Center provides lessons to every Pinedale Elementary School third- and fourth-grade student as part of their physical education curriculum while vouchers for a session of free lessons are given to all other students grades kindergarten through fifth grade. Seventy-six vouchers were redeemed last year totaling $3,040 in swimming lessons.
The next set of swimming lessons will go from Nov. 8 to Dec. 8 with more to come next year.
This is the largest program offered at the PAC, offering instruction and safety awareness to nearly 900 participants every year.
