The Wyoming Coaches
Association released its roster this week for
the annual All-Star volleyball and basketball
games hosted by Casper College in July.
Pinedale High School graduate Danny Gosar
was recognized for his basketball talents and
landed a spot on the list for the north boys’
team. Gosar is the only athlete from Pinedale
that was invited to play in the Wyoming All-
Star Games this year.
The All-Star games are scheduled during
the Wyoming Coaches Association’s annual
coaching clinic and Hall of Fame banquet.
Three days of practice are scheduled to start
on Wednesday, July 17, before the north and
south boys’ basketball teams take each other
on in the Thunderbird Gym at Casper College.
“All Star Week was originated to recognize
the best seniors in their individual sport
and allow them to compete in a highly honored
event,” said Grant Patik, All-Star director
for the Wyoming Coaches Association.
Gosar had an exceptional senior year playing
for the Pinedale Wranglers. He made it
to the 3A All-State and All-Conference list
this winter. Gosar also received the honor
of Player of the Year from the Wyoming
Coaches’ Association. Pinedale High School
named Gosar male Athlete of the Year for the
2018-2019 school year.
This summer, Gosar was the fifth player
from Pinedale to compete in the Wyoming
versus Montana All-Star Game on June 7 and
June 8. The top 10 senior basketball players
in Wyoming are chosen for the tournaments
that took place in Billings, Mont. and Sheridan.
Gosar accepted an invitation as a “preferred
walk-on” player for the University of
Wyoming basketball team and will play for
the Cowboys this fall, Elizabeth Gosar confirmed
for the Pinedale Roundup.
