BIG PINEY – Big Piney schools and businesses are participating in Homecoming Week with events from Monday, Sept. 17, through Saturday, Sept. 22.
Monday is Pajama Day and planning for school door decorating.
Tuesday is Superhero Day, with door decorating and a senior and student council meeting at lunchtime to plan Painting the Town Red. The sand volleyball tournament at the Big Piney Rec Center starts with warm-up at 6:30 p.m. and games at 7 p.m.
Wednesday is Hawaiian Day and Paint the Town Red Day, with the homecoming bonfire at 8 p.m. on the Marbleton hill by Obo’s.
Throwback Thursday includes the Sublette girls’ swim meet at 5 p.m.
Friday starts out as Super Red & White Day with the Homecoming Parade setting up at 10 a.m. and the parade at 10:15 a.m. Homecoming King, Queen and Attendants will be announced at the school assembly at 11 a.m., followed by Puncher football against Kemmerer at 2 p.m. with royalty being crowned before the game. Puncher volleyball is set to play against the cross-county rivals Pinedale Lady Wranglers in the Big Red gym at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Saturday, which brings the Big Piney Library Fall Festival downtown from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., leads to the Homecoming Dance, from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m.
Paint the Town Red, showing the community’s Puncher Pride, will stay in place until cleanup on Wednesday, Oct. 3.
