Glaciers open 2023 on the road

WYOMING – The Glaciers rang in the New Year with multiple away games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 6-8.

The 19U girls’ team commenced the weekend tying Gillette, 4-4, on Friday. The Glaciers went on to defeat Gillette, 5-4, on Saturday.

On Saturday and Sunday, the 19U traveled to Miles City and fell in two close games, 3-1 and 2-1.

The Glaciers 18U high school team journeyed to southeast Wyoming to play Cheyenne and Laramie. The team came up short against Cheyenne, 10-0, on Friday, and 8-0 on Saturday.

Following a 5-1 loss to Laramie on Saturday evening, the 18U fought Laramie to a 2-2 tie on Sunday.

19U

The first period of Friday’s game against Gillette ended in a 1-1 tie. Molly Murphy scored for Pinedale, assisted by Elizabeth Lawless. Pinedale won the second period, 1-0, with Murphy shooting in the lone goal, assisted by Anabella Fausett.

Gillette scored 3 goals to 2 by Pinedale in the third period. Fausett scored a goal assisted by Lexi Harper. Harper made the second goal off a play by Seren Noble.

Kylynn Martin played goalie against Gillette and tallied 25 saves.

Pinedale outscored Gillette, 1-0, in the first period on Saturday. Murphy shot in a goal unassisted.

Gillette took control in the second period, 3-1. Harper scored for the Glaciers, assisted by Murphy.

Turning the tables in the third period, the Glaciers outpaced Gillette, 3-1. Murphy made the first goal unassisted. Fausett scored the next two goals, assisted by Harper and Murphy.

Martin stepped up as goalie and made 28 saves against Gillette on Saturday.

The Glaciers carried the first period against Miles City, 1-0. Murphy scored for Pinedale, assisted by Loveless. Martin made 25 saves as goalie against Miles City on Saturday evening.

On Sunday, Pinedale and Miles City each scored a point in the second period. Cassy Miller netted a goal, assisted by Moriah Miller and Erica Seehafer. Martin totaled 27 saves as goalie Sunday morning.

18U

Pinedale fell to Cheyenne, 10-0, on Friday and 8-0 on Saturday.

Shea Rogge played goalie for the Glaciers on Friday and made 25 saves. Korvyn Powell took his turn defending the net on Saturday with 36 saves.

On Saturday evening, Pinedale lost to Laramie, 5-1. Waylon Williams scored for the Glaciers in the first period, assisted by Yates Garcilaso-Huffman. Rogge served as goalie and posted 36 saves.

Refusing to yield the ice on Sunday, the Glaciers tied Laramie, 2-2. The first period remained scoreless.

Pinedale shot in two goals in the second period while holding Laramie to a single goal. Garcilaso-Huffman scored first, assisted by Bo Danze. Mason Currah made the second goal unassisted. Powell played goalie and totaled 34 saves.
