PINEDALE – For those who may still be behind on back-to-school shopping for the coming school year, the folks over at Meadow Lake Real Estate have you covered. Coming up on Aug. 23, the local business will be hosting a school supply giveaway from 4-6 at 27 E. Pine Street in Pinedale.
The event will offer light drinks and snacks, along with $300 worth of school supplies to hand out. According to sales associate Neil Lucke, the company contacted the schools of Sublette County School District No. 1 to obtain lists of items students need for the year.
The free giveaway will feature items such as crayons, pens, folders, glue, highlighters and many additional general school supplies that will be free of charge. The stockpile of items features a wide assortment for all ages in grades K-12. Supplies are limited and will be handed out on a first-come, first-serve basis. They have discussed the possibility of setting up bags for each individual grade, but nothing has been solidified just yet.
The idea originated through Neil’s wife Emily Lucke, who thought it would be a nice thing to do for the community a few weeks ago. Meadow Lake Real Estate plans on bringing the event back next year with hopes to make it bigger and better than this year.
“Next year we will try to go a little bigger,” Neil said. “We’re kind of behind the game and down to crunch time. (For next year) if any businesses or individuals around town would like to chip in and go a little bit larger, that would be great.”
