PINEDALE – The weather outside is frightful with little snow, but Main Street Pinedale is hauling in extra and hoping for snow for the upcoming PinedaleWinter Carnival.

On Monday, the Pinedale Town Council members approved the event’s permit and waived the fees. Kate Dahl, executive director for Main Street PInedale, said since there was so little snow this year, trucks would be bringing snow into town and for the skijoring events and children’s snowmobile races.

The Amateur Snow Sculpture began Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the American Legion Park, 234 N. Madison Ave., where artists will work on projects through Friday when judging takes place at 4 p.m. Registration forms are available online. Up to six people can work on the project and there will be recognition for Best Theme and Most Creative. The registration forms should be given to judges at the park on Friday at 4 p.m.

Friday, Feb. 16

Coed Hockey Tournament begins at the Sublette Ice Arena, 1219 W. Washington St., Pinedale. Teams register by contacting the ice arena, (307) 367-6313. Spectators are free.

6 to 8 p.m. Skijoring registration, takes place at the Stockman’s Tavern, 117 W. Pine, Pinedale. Forms including skijor waiver 2018, Skijor America rules and skijoring registration are online. The event takes place Saturday.

Saturday, Feb. 17

8 to 10 a.m. A pancake breakfast hosted by the Knights of Columbus at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 112 S. Sublette Ave., Pinedale. Donations are accepted.

9 a.m. Skijoring begins at Bloomfield Ave., Pinedale. Spectators are $10 per car.

Coed Hockey Tournament continues at the Sublette Ice Arena, 1219 W. Washington St., Pinedale. Spectators are free.

2 p.m. Kids Sno-Cross at Bloomfield subdivision, by Pinedale Snow Explorers & Altitude Offroad. Register onsite, will start following skijoring.

6 p.m. Sno-Ball at Wind River Brewing Company, 402 W. Pine St., Pinedale. Rooster plays at 6 p.m. and Specific South featuring Jason Burton and Terry Hill starts at 7 p.m.

6:30 p.m. The Winter Carnival King and Queen and skijoring results will be announced.

Sunday Feb. 18

10 a.m. Cardboard sled registration begins at White Pine Ski Resort, register onsite.

Forms including WP Cardboard Classic Rules and Regulations 2018 are online.

11:30 a.m. Cardboard Calcutta at White Pine.

Noon Cardboard Classic Race at White Pine Ski Resort.

4 p.m. Yukon Cornelius Cornhole Tournament at World Famous Corral Bar, 30 W. Pine St., Pinedale. Register onsite, entry fee $5 each player. n
