Donald M. Desaire, Sr., 79, of Cheyenne, Wyo., passed away Sept. 8, 2021, at the VA Medical Center in Cheyenne.

He was born April 23, 1942, in Damar, Kansas, to Leo and Deloris Desaire. He married Nancy Lee Harp on Oct. 21, 1961, in Dallas, Texas. Don was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years. He was the chief housing inspector for the housing authority for the City of Loveland, Colorado, for many years. Don was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Loveland.

Don is survived by his children, Donald (Julie) Desaire, Jr. of Cheyenne, Monica (Marvin) Baudendistel of Loveland, and Matthew (Lauren) Desaire of Loveland. He leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. His surviving siblings are Arlinda (Ken) McLaughlin of Pinedale; Marva Gill of St. Mary’s, Ohio; Leland Desaire of Hutchinson, Kansas; Richard Desaire, Martin (Sheri) Desaire, Jonetta (Don) Petty, and Karyl Wilson all of Salina, Kansas. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins were part of Don’s large family, as well.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Deloris Desaire; his wife, Nancy Desaire; siblings Michael Desaire and Merrilene Divilbiss; and sister-in-law Jean Desaire.

A memorial service was held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, in the Lakeview Chapel at Schraeder, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home in Cheyenne with internment following in the Cheyenne National Cemetery.
