Pinedale High School sophomores Madison Antonino and Cora Koci competed at the 2022 Liberty Bell Cross Country Invitational with the Jackson Hole High School team on Sept. 10. The event takes place in Littleton, Colo., and is one of the largest meets in the region with more than 90 teams participating.

Antonino captured second place in girls’ varsity Division II, posting a time of 19 minutes, 20.40 seconds.

“Maddy ran a great final mile moving all the way up to second, closing rapidly on the leader,” said Head Jackson Coach Jeff Brazil. “She finished with a 16-second personal record and looked like was ready to go faster.”

After competing in junior varsity the previous week, Koci joined the varsity squad at Liberty Bell, placing 97th with a time of 24:32.80, a new personal record, said Brazil.

“Cora was really pushing the pace as she worked her way past the second mile mark, getting ready to attack the final mile,” he added. “The ninth- and 10th-graders are developing into a team with awesome potential.”
