PHS sophomore Madison Antonino, pictured above in the 800-meters at Rock Springs on April 15, set two new school records in distance events at the 2023 Brigham Young University High School Invitational on May 5-6. The event featured top athletes from Utah, Wyoming, Nevada and as far afield as Alaska. Antonino finished 11th out of 85 athletes in the girls’ 3200-meters, posting a time of 11 minutes, 5.31 seconds. Antonino shattered her own PHS school record in the 3200-meters set in Rock Springs on April 15 at 11:34.00. The sophomore secured 26th place out of 262 runners in the 1600-meters with a time 5:13.48, once again breaking her own school record. Antonino set the previous 1600-meter record of 5:21.99 in Vernal, Utah, on April 1.
