Brannan’s felony deferred with probation

Posted

A woman

charged with child endangerment was

sentenced in 9th District Court on

Sept. 17 to supervised probation – and

might have the charge dropped if she

completes probation successfully.

Jennifer L. Brannan, of Pinedale,

entered a plea agreement in 9th District

Court after being charged with – and

initially pleading not guilty to – two

felony counts of endangering children

in a place where meth is used or stored.

In exchange for Brannan’s pleading

guilty to one count that might be

removed from her record, Deputy

County Attorney Clayton Melinkovich

and public defender ElisabethTrefonas

negotiated an agreement to recommend

three years of supervised probation,

court record show. If Brannan is

successful with meeting all of her

probation terms, that deferred charge

would be dismissed.

Judge Marv Tyler accepted Brannan’s

guilty plea and the plea agreement at her

Sept. 17 change-of-plea and sentencing

hearing.

The judge said Brannan must fully

comply with “any and all probation

terms and conditions” and cannot be

arrested for anything or even receive a

citation “except for very minor traffic

violations.” He also ordered her to obtain

her high school equivalency certification

within 35 months and substance abuse

treatment.

Brannan must also pay $425 in fees

and reimburse Sublette County $250 for

her public defender.
