BONDURANT – The Sublette County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees recognized four students from Bondurant Elementary School at its Oct. 14 meeting.
Third-grader Jolien Robertson received the Character Counts Award for responsibility.
“Jolien has taken on a high level of responsibility as the oldest student at Bondurant Elementary,” Karin Unruh, BES teacher, told the board. “She is always on task and does her best on every assignment. I can trust Jolien to set the example for positive behavior for her classmates. She has a great attitude and is willing to help her classmates and me. Jolien is consistently a student I can count on in every way.”
Unruh nominated first grader Knox Buday for the Character Counts Award for respect.
“Knox prioritizes treating others with kindness,” Unruh said. “He shows his classmates and teachers respect both inside and outside the classroom. Knox encourages and cheers for his classmates as they learn new skills. He has great manners and speaks kindly to everyone around. Knox is a bright light at BES.”
Tynlee Smith, also a first-grader, was presented the Character Counts Award for caring.
“Tynlee is a wonderful classmate who cares,” stated Unruh. “She looks out for other students and checks in on her classmates when they are having a hard day. She wants to make sure her classmates feel welcomed and accepted. Tynlee is kind and compassionate toward everyone at BES. She is ready to greet anyone with a big smile.”
Kindergartener Brady Saunders was honored with the Character Counts Award for trustworthiness.
“Since the first day of school, Brady has proven to be trustworthy,” Unruh told the trustees. “He is reliable and works hard in class. Brady has the courage to do the right thing and can be trusted to make positive choices. He is loyal to his classmates and he is always a great friend. Brady brings a lot of joy to BES.”
