PINEDALE – Avid golfers banded together to enjoy two days of competitive golfing while also raising funds for local nonprofits last Friday and Saturday at Rendezvous Meadows Golf Course during the annual Buc Boudreaux Memorial Tournament.
According to Bob Maxam, who helped organize the tournament with RT Pennock, the event went very well this year with a higher turnout of golfers than in 2016.
“As a whole, it’s a great tournament,” Maxam noted. “We were down last year, so we were pleased with participation and good funds raised for our charities.”
This year’s event saw a total of 24 teams with five golfers on each team, up from 18 teams last year.
“We saw a slight improvement,” Maxam said.
Exact figures of the amount raised this year haven’t been finalized just yet, but once expenses have been paid, the remaining money will be dispersed to MESA Therapeutic Horsemanship and other nonprofits throughout the community.
The overall winner of gross went to the team of Jim McLellen and Friends, while the overall winner of low net went to M&M Power Wash and Painting team. Team members for Jim McLellen’s team included Carole Lain, Jeremy Christensen, Bob Cushner and Chris Cookson. The M&M team featured team members Jeromy Moffat, Chris Moffat, Ryan Brause, Spencer McMillan and Bobby Hammer.
