SUBLETTE COUNTY – During two pretrial conferences on Monday, May 22, Sublette County Circuit Court Judge John LaBuda allowed for potential plea agreements.
Attorney Gaston Gosar said he, his client Galen Bellis and county attorney Clayton Melinkovich are discussing possible mandatory jail time for a second DUI conviction. The judge set a change-of-plea hearing for June 1 at 10 a.m.
Attorney Elisabeth Trefonas, representing Nicholas A. Leyva on a misdemeanor pot possession charge, told Judge LaBuda she and deputy county attorney Adrian Kowalski discussed “a reasonable resolution.” They will wait until after Leyva’s District Court June 18 sentencing for two felony assault charges, to which Leyva pleaded no contest.
